My Dream Man

My husband is definitely not my dream man.I snobbed him the first time we were introduced to each other and continued watching finding ''Nemo" .  I thought he was ugly, arrogant and not my type even if he is an American . After a month, our  common friend told him to call me because I was bored and needed somebody to talk to. We started talking over the phone until finally he asked for a  date without an idea that we already met before .The rest was history and we ended up being  married after a month. It was a wirlwind romance and everything happened so fast .I actually have a fiancee back in the US preparing for our paperworks for a fiancee visa but things did not push through when I met my hubby. I broke up with him through email.I know it would be very hard for him but it is better that way than just stop communicating with him.I have no regret  being married for more than 6 years now ,he may not be my dream man but he  made me feel that I am his only dream girl and the sunshine of his life.

Who among us never had a dream man when we were younger? I started dreaming of a man I will marry back in high school days. My  mind was  focused on marrying a foreigner, American to be specific .In fact ,I had pen pal's already even if I hardly compose a letter.
Then in college, I thought of marrying a pilot, a high ranking military man  or a lawyer. But things really happens the way you want it to be coz I  got married to an Arab who  was  not  my dream man and ended up  in a divorced after 2 years of marriage. My marriage life with him was hell so I told myself  not to  marry another one from the Middle East  ever again. I was dreaming  of marrying again someday but this time it is either an  American or  a Japanese( I find them romantic and loving). While working in KSA, I met an American who was  my dream man but the wedding did not push through for some reason. He is the man behind my Wind Beneath My Wings post.
Broken hearted, I went to Qatar for a job but still not losing hope  to meet somebody again who is willing to spend life with me for the rest of our lives .Luckily, I found my loving husband who is now sleeping  and snoring(lakas humilik-chismis mode) beside me.

Wind Beneath My Wings

This song is one of my all time favorite and  has been a part of my life. After a failed marriage and a painful divorced he came into my life and dedicated this song to me. We fell in love, dreamt  and planned together  for our future. But  3 weeks before the wedding day and all the preparations, he came up to a decision  of choosing his children  over me. Guess that was goodbye. It happened 8 years ago.I already moved on after all the heart aches. I am happily married now.My life changed for the better. I  thank God  and  should have thank him too  for not choosing me because I finally found the man who is actually the Wind Beneath my Wings ,my very understanding and LOVING HUSBAND .

"Wind Beneath My Wings"

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

Dating to Find Mr. Right

I know a lot of ladies out there looking for Mr. Right. Is there really a Mr. Right or we just believe there is ? Dating is one way of finding Mr. Right and knowing what kind of man you want before you go on is a big factor. Here are some tips of finding Mr. Right.Good luck and may you find the Prince Charming you were looking for.

1.He listens to you while you talk.Showing genuine concern by offering emotional support in an honest and thoughtful way.

2. He wants the real you. Most women ,hide the true them in order to make a relationship work. With the right partner ,you have nothing to hide,be yourself and no cmpromise needed.

3.He connects with you easily.Relationship should not take a lot of work.If you are comfortable with each other and the chemistry is undeniable then there is something really special going on.

4.He inspires you to be your best .The right relationship brings a sense of peace in you .It enriches your life and brings the best in you while the wrong relationship makes you emotionaly drain ,your partner brings you down and tear you apart. And who likes to be in this situation?
5. He is  trustworthy. A relationship with trust is  a good foundation for a real and lasting love.Trust is important. If we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy. Your partner will never intentionally hurt you if there is trust. If you find that Mr.Right is trustworthy ,you'll  have no worries giving your heart to him and in return he will most likely give you his heart for a loving and lasting relationship.

If  your Mr Right possess all the qualities mentioned then he may be the right one for you.Choose wisely  and hope for a successful relationship .If not, pick up yourself ,get back into dating and make a few small changes in your approach until you find the right one if not Mr.Right.Maybe there is no really Mr Right .Finding the life partner is not easy as it might seem  but keep looking and you'll get one.

Meet the In-Laws

My first visit to Oklahoma was June 2005 together with my son and hubby. At last I was going to meet my in laws..PIL were not able to pick us up at the airport  for some flight rescheduling problem so we had to take a cab from the airport to their house. It was a 3 long hours drive andit was already dark when we reach their house  . PIL and nephew,(sister in law's eldest son ,who leaves with PIL)  rushed outside when they saw a cab on the front yard. Mama and Dad hugged us .You can see the happiness on their face upon seeing us.I already been talking  with mama over  the phone so I already have an idea about her but when I finally met them I got the impression  of how caring ,sweet and loving person they  both are.I met hubby's only sister (youngest)   who came all the way from Texas to see us few days after .I felt a little shy and uncomfortable at her for  little while but that was it we get along well with each other afterward. She is a sweet SIL. Her son and mine being of the same age get along well too as cousins.

little sister, mama(still wearing her nurse uniform) and me.
we played scrabble and I beat them, hahaha! love you both.

Finally, My Immigrant Visa was Approved!

After 2 years of waiting, finally my immigrant visa application was approved. It  was long overdue because of the Police clearance from Saudi Arabia that I cannot produce.

When hubby called at the US embassy last year to inform them that I cannot get a KSA  police clearance they just said that no need, we will just wait forever for nothing because  they (KSA) do not give clearance to 3rd world country nationals who are already gone out of the country (well, I knew it all along but they still want me to get one). So hubby called up to our lawyer in the US for the update and after few weeks I was required to send  a new police clearance from Qatar and Philippines to the USCIS. And last month they  mailed the appointment schedule to my mothers in law's house in the US while hubby was there on a vacation.

This morning was my interview date and everything turned out well. The consul interviewed both me and hubby to established that the marriage  is legitimate. We where then  told that the visa will come after a few days and another packet will also be included.

Praise God! Allelujah!

Anyway, we were all happy chatting inside the car about this immigration and interview thing on the way home. Let me share you some of the funny conversation between my hubby and kuya (my eldest son), he was seated beside hubby in the front seat while me and buso was at the back seat.

Daddy - why do you want to go to America
kuya(son) - to get a solid education
Daddy - you can have it anywhere
Kuya- even in Qatar ?
Daddy - well yes but it is expensive here, bla,ba ,bla...
Daddy - now tell me why do you want to go to America?
Kuya - it's non of your business....
Daddy - well son, don't tell me that coz I am your sponsor and you are my stepson. I pay for all your expenses, education, bla, bla, bla
Kuya- I thought you were the interviewer
Daddy- son do not say that coz  you are gonna fail the exam bla,bla ,bla...

I was at the back seat and cannot help but laugh with them.

When God Created Fathers

Today is a Fathers Day celebration. I wanna share with you a nice  story dedicated to all fathers.

When the good Lord was creating Fathers he started with a tall frame.
And a female angel nearby said, "What kind of Father is that? If you're going to make children so close to the ground, why have you put fathers up so high? He won't be able to shoot marbles without kneeling, tuck a child in bed without bending, or even kiss a child without a lot of stooping."

And God smiled and said, "Yes, but if I make him child size, who would children have to look up to?"

And when God made a Father's hands, they were large and sinewy.

And the angel shook her head sadly and said, "Do you know what you're doing? Large hands are clumsy. They can't manage diaper pins, small buttons, rubber bands on pony tails or even remove splinters caused by baseball bats."

And God smiled and said, "I know, but they're large enough to hold everything a small boy empties from his pockets at the end of a day...yet small enough to cup a child's face in his hands."

And then God moulded long, slim legs and broad shoulders.

And the angel nearly had a heart attack. "Boy, this is the end of the week, all right," she clucked. "Do you realize you just made a Father without a lap? How is he going to pull a child close to him without the kid falling between his legs?"

And God smiled and said, "A mother needs a lap. A father needs strong shoulders to pull a sled, balance a boy on a bicycle, and hold a sleepy head on the way home from the circus."

God was in the middle of creating two of the largest feet anyone had every seen when the angel could contain herself no longer.

"That's not fair. Do you honestly think those large boats are going to dig out of bed early in the morning when the baby cries? Or walk through a small birthday party without crushing at least three of the guests?"

And God smiled and said, "They'll work. You'll see. They'll support a small child who wants to ride a horse to Banbury Cross, or scare off mice at the summer cabin, or display shoes that will be a challenge to fill."

God worked throughout the night, giving the Father few words, but a firm authoritative voice; eyes that saw everything, but remained calm and tolerant.

Finally, almost as an afterthought, he added tears.

Then he turned to the angel and said, "Now, are you satisfied that he can love as much as a Mother?"

The angel said nothing more.

Daddy Moments

Next Sunday will be a "Fathers day celebration' so I am making a post about non other than  the father of my 5 loving children.

Let me give you a brief history of our whirlwind love affair. We met in Qatar  April, 2004 through  common friends, had a first date on May 9 at Sheraton Hotel  and then got married on June of the same year. The planned date was supposed to be on the 4th of July but due to unavoidable circumstances we moved it one week earlier.

Now back to Daddy moments, as a husband he is a sweet loving husband and  and  father, he may be strict and a disciplinarian but  that what makes his 3 grown up sons who they are right now while  the 2 younger ones are still in the molding process.

I have lots of picture of dady with children but since he  refused to be recognized on my blogging world,  I just showed some photos of him (as usual) showing his back.

What is in my wallet ?

It is  girls talk once again and this time we were talking about what is inside our wallet. Why do most women can't go out without a wallet ?And when I say wallet it usually means a big wallet wherein you can put even the whole house(excagg mode) in it.

I have my nostalgic wallet for 5 years now and I have no plan of getting a new one yet as long as it is usable unless somebody gave me a new Loui Vitton  brand ,lol..I bought it at Landmark, Makati  when hubby drove me and my sisters for a shopping spree. It is made of leather and with lots of pocket  for my ID cards ,bills, coins, photos of my family ,receipt and some important papers.

I clean it once in a while but most of the time it is unorganized especially when  my bunso get hold of it. He just love to mess up with my stuff even if he knows that he will get spanking .

Flat Tire

I got a flat tire yesterday morning. I just found out through a neighbor who saw it while I was trying to pull the car out of the garage to take my son to school. So he ended up walking going  to  school which is only 4 blocks away. Hubby tried to fix it last night but never done it because he don't have the right tools. He will get it at work and will do the rest of the tire changing  today.

It is  kuya's  final exam week so he don't carry heavy bag with him. My only worry is that,  it is too hot to walk outside so hubby gave him an umbrella last night but I doubt if our son is going to use it. And today  is also his last day of exam, time for me to return back his Nintendo DS. He already mentioned it to me yesterday and was planning to give it after class.

Plans for Fathers Day

Fathers day will fall on the 20th of June.As of today ,I don't have any plans yet for this but all I know is that we will be altogether at this day .Hubby will take a day off to accompany me at the US embassy for my immigration appointment. After 7 years of staying in Qatar,we decided that it is already time for me and the kids to stay in the USA for good. We might go to the mall after for a breakfast or lunch defending on what time we will gonna finish at the embassy.

Kuya will surely make a fathers day card for daddy .I still don't know what to give him since hubby is not into fathers day celebration . Kisses and hugs  might be enough gift for him.

Visit Couples Corner for more fathers day plan .

Do I need a new car?

Three years ago my husband had noticed some problem with the car brake so he brought it  to the shop for a brake job. We were  shocked  to see how thin the brake pad was and really needed  a replacement. Whew, I can't imagine myself driving without a brake.

I got  problem again with the same car three months ago. One night as I was driving to meet some friends, I noticed some smoke coming out from the hood so I stop  and called up hubby for help. He came after an hour and checked the radiator. Since it is dark in the place and the radiator is too hot to fill in with water we just decided to leave it and come back the following day to take it at the repair shop. I was hoping that  Dallas auto repair is just around the corner to have it fix .

My car is too old already and was hoping that hubby will get me a new one. He already asked me what type of car I want but I did not answer him yet. I was thinking of  a nice looking and versatile truck like the Chevrolet Silverado though. Anyway, I will be happy with whatever car he will get for me.
