For some people who may have problems about dealing with Attention Deficit Disorder or ADD, finding the right way to solve it could be a huge dilemma. Someone might result to the use of medications while others may think of joining groups who share the same dilemma as theirs and end up exchanging ideas and opinion about how each of them is able to cope up with the situation. If we take a look at everywhere, most well known ADD centers focus on the use of communication strategies to help someone understand and cope up with the situation. Listed below are three main reasons why Attention Deficit Disorder Therapy is what famous ADD Centers prescribe in order to deal with the situation.
ADD Therapy enhances the self worth of the patient – most ADD centers believe that therapeutic conversations that are given to people with disorders to make them realize that they are never alone in the world and that they are still normal human beings despite their condition.
ADD Therapy increases the interpersonal relationship of the patient - Based on observations, most patients who belong to an ADD therapy group have several chances to socialize and gain friends who share the same feelings as them.
ADD Therapy is safe - Most people will surely agree that Therapeutic communication treatment is far safer than intake of drugs as it merely focuses on the disclosure of one’s emotions as well as inhibitions and most activities focus on the use of diaries and insights to help them accept themselves.
With these three things that were cited, there really is no doubt that therapeutic communications when used to treat ADD will not give temporary relief which most medications do. Instead, this process provides a slow yet sure and secured way to solve such condition.

ReplyDeleteBebengisms
ADD and ADHD are almost the same. The only difference (I think) was that ADHD's main indicators are problems with attention, impulsivity and hyperactivity.
DeleteThis definitely reminds me of my brother-in-law. He is diagnosed with ADD and we feel sorry for him. The only thing that we can't seem to like about his disorder is that he never stops talking. He keeps on going on and on and on with tons of topics. Sometimes we don't want him to ride with us because we never have peace in the car. LOL!
ReplyDeleteearly intervention helps a lot too! sad sometimes, parents would just ignore the problem, but it really needs to be treated.
ReplyDeleteI had an officemate before whose son was diagnosed with ADD. She had to give up her career so she can focus on having him treated and sent him to a special school as well. It was all worth it because she has noticed huge improvement of her son's condition.

DeleteFor me, the best medication/medicine talaga for ADD is constant communication. Di rin kasi maiiwasan ang epekto ng drugs sa katawan
ReplyDeleteWith so many acronyms now being associated with various behavioral conditions of people, I sometimes get lost. If there are specific therapies that can address these conditions, then that would best explored.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be worth having ADD patients interact with each other in a therapy session as it would give them a chance to socialize and appreciate their condition with those in a similar condition.
ReplyDeleteADD is a disorder and not a real disease therefore only needs proper management. Its good to know that there are available options to handle these cases.

ReplyDeleteADD/ADHD Children for me are still normal. I have a nephew diagnose to have ADHD. And MEDICATION is not the only answer to treat him. We do exercises such as DANCE and GYMNASTICS just to reduce its symptoms. According to his doctor it is good for the children who had ADD/ADHD.
ReplyDeleteI think with great communication, or even a simple one it will heal not just kids with ADD but everyone!
ReplyDeleteGreat read!
Being open-minded with this kind of condition will help us understand more of what they feel and how they react with circumstances. ADD is not that serious illness so, undergoing therapy will definitely be of great help.
ReplyDeleteLearning the patient's skills and developing it while in medication is a great help for them.
ReplyDeletei believe that to cure such illness is not through medication.. i mean, it is psychological.. so the cure should be within. interpersonal relationship kumbaga.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with you in terms of ADD therapy. Sometimes, our burden are getting heavier cause we just kept it to ourselves - conversation with others and letting them know what we have inside is a great therapy and might relieved the patient.
ReplyDeleteUnknown to many people ADD is quite common. Who among us have not encountered a person who seems to have no sense of urgency, lacks attention and can't seem to get things right? It is never too late to get help for those who have this.
ReplyDeletetherapeutic communications seems to be the great approach to treat ADD.. although I am not familiar with ADD, I can say that many things can happen when communication line is open.. and for sure with this kind of therapy, people suffering from ADD got to share their experience and frustrations with people who can relate to them.. much like with OCD, as I am suffering from it, it feels a lot better talking to someone suffering from OCD too, as they can understand me and my frustrations :)
ReplyDeletewow , i never knew that attention deficit is a disorder until now ... i think i have known some friends who have this . based on what i know and observation it might have rooted from the family also..
