Are you someone who loves writing poems because thoughts and ideas just came out naturally when you start holding your pen? Are you the kind of person who finds happiness in every poem you finished writing? If so, joining poetry contests is for you. Participating in poetry contests is one way of showcasing a person’s talent in poetry. For the recent years, the most common way of entering poetry contests is through the internet. With a little on research and the right determination, an interested poet can easily find legitimate poetry contests online.
A brilliant mind and an inspired heart are the best assets that a poet could ever have. Reading and re-reading the works of the famous poets could help broaden the topics and subject matter that can be tackled by an amateur poet. Playing around with the title, switching stanzas and proofreading the work before submitting it to poetry contests can help increase the chance of winning. Any written piece whether a poem, letter, or a book is always considered to be a prized possession especially if it inspires a lot of people.
Seeking membership in the group or community of poets with the same interests can help enhance the innate talent. The organization can serve as the channel to fully express the poets mind through his written pieces. Having a talent in poetry is a gift and not everybody is given the same gift. With the unique and inspiring work, a poet can simply touch and change people’s lives.
I had received an e-mail from a fellow blogger egging me to join a Poetry contest. Hesistant ako kasi para bang ang gawa ko inferior sa gawa ng iba.
