Vice Ganda and the GMA news subordinated are now all over the news and social media. it is a delayed reaction about Vice ganda making Jessica Soho's as a laughing stock on his May 17 concert. The two minute monoloque is about Soho doing a bold movie titled “Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Sobra,”. Vice Ganda joked about Soho having a hard time using a weighing scale, “Ang hirap nga lang kung si Jessica Soho magbo-bold. Kailangan gang rape lagi. Sasabihin ng rapist, ‘Ipasa ang lechon.’ Sasabihin naman ni Jessica, ‘Eh nasaan yung apple?”
Saksi anchor Arnold Clavio reacted through his morning program in DZBB. “Bakit mo binibiktima ang mga taong seryoso sa trabaho nila? Huwag mo silang kasangkapanin para lang makapagpagpatawa. Bakit hindi taga-diyan sa inyo ang gawin mong subject ng jokes mo? Bakit hindi taga-ABS-(CBN)?” he said. Other GMA News reporters followed shortly on twitter that focused on Vice alleged insensitivity to gang rape victims.
Jessica Soho reacted to the issue with an official Statement sent to GMA News Online:
Rape is not a joke and should never be material for a comedy concert. I thank all those who shared my hurt and expressed their support but this should not be about me but about the rape victims who suffer tremendously from this terrible crime. The horrors they go through are unspeakable who suffer tremendously from this terrible crime. The horrors they go through are unspeakable.
My say: The issue issue here is not about Soho's weight but the "gang rape". Rape is a very sensitive issue and should not be use as a joke. Anyway, Vice Ganda is known to this kind of distasteful joke and his fans (masa) loves her for what he is. No wonder he enjoys what he is doing and do not mind what others will feel with his insensitive jokes and comments. Being funny is not about mocking others, being insensitive or disrespectful. It's about sharing a good sense of humor for people to laugh together.
I have never liked Vice Ganda even 1 bit. I hate it when comedians bully other people just to get a laugh from their audience. Ang low naman :/ And rape pa ang topic ha? Jessica Soho may be overweight but she doesn't deserve to be made fun of, especially with something as sensitive as rape! :/
ReplyDeleteI think the joke maybe in bad taste but I hope they just did their reactions privately since it is now more glorified and instead of people in the concert being the only ones knowing about the joke. Niw, it's the whole country.
ReplyDeleteVice is pertaining about Ms.Jessica as being fat, he's not focusing on the idea of rape. But what's so funny about Jessica Soho being over-weight? Making fun of someone because of his/her weight is more of a bullying and it has to stop. She don't deserve to be treated like this.
ReplyDeleteI have watched the news report on this last night and also read many tweets on Twitter supporting Jessica Soho. Yup, she does not deserve those silly jokes.
ReplyDeleteI have watched the full video and I'm totally disgusted with the antics this man (bakla pala) had shown. To hell with this idiot. pardon my words.. Baka pati sa hell hindi siya tanggapin. Even Satan, while tempting Jesus Christ has uttered fine words.
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of vice Ganda , I dislike people like him who does mockery and makes one silly. Though some may say its just part of the show or its his job. So rather for me not to watch him. Actually, I don't have any idea yet what this latest issue is all about until I read this post.
ReplyDeleteI was a fan of Vice Ganda, until I heard this recent issue. Sure, it's okay to lightly joke about people. Yet he somehow blew things out of proportion. I mean, Ms. Jessica Soho's weight may have been the major topic. But it was completely insensitive of him to place 'rape' into his segment. That's uncalled for. Rape should not be taken this lightly, especially for those who've undergone such a traumatic experience. It's just a shame. He could've used his being a famous celebrity to a better cause. I hope he sends out an apology real soon.
ReplyDeleteWell for me He went overboard. Gusto nyang bumangga sa pader sa pangungutya sa isang respetadong tao.
ReplyDeleteI have never been a fan of Vice Ganda. Although he also has his way of making people laugh. I give him credit for that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a fan of vice ganda, although I have to admit he has made me laugh a lot of times. But I think the people are just over reacting? I mean come on, Bubble gang has been doing rape jokes before and it was never an issue. How many years have they made fun of Diego's face and Myka's dark skin, they made tons of money for it, and nobody reacted that way. Trompang trumpo too, they've been making fun of Whitney Tyson for her looks and color, still nobody reacted. Even the king of comedy Dolphy, he's been slapping Babalu and other 'extras' to make other people laugh, but nobody reacted. The show wasn't even supposed to be for national TV. And like what other people say: Joke is a joke, if you can't take it it's your problem. Thousands of people in Araneta know this, as an intelligent GMA executive, she should as well. On the other hand, if this is their way to demolish their competition then it's just pathetic.
ReplyDeleteJust my two cents.
i definitely agree that jessica soho shouldnt have reacted. its pathetic. on the other hand people in this industry should be respected http://thenewmedia.com/interview-with-maria-ressa-ceo-of-rappler-com/
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of Vice Ganda. But I honestly feel he is so funny. He is witty and smart as well. As for me, jokes can be really hurting. But Ms. Jessica is a public icon. She shouldn't acted that way.
ReplyDeleteI was never a fan of distasteful jokes. This one's below the belt and very insensitive.
