Happy Birthday To Me

Every year, we celebrate our birthday, we get a chance to start new, forget about the not so beautiful memories. Over the years, aging changes the styles of our hair and clothes style, but if you really look closer at our selves, it's really the same,  we just take life's challenges seriously.

Happy Birthday Big Boy

My youngest son turned 4 years last week. He clearly told us that he is already a big boy and not a baby anymore. For his big day, he only had three requests, a birthday cake and candles to blow, lots of toys, so I took him to Walmart's toy section to get some toys of his choice and lastly, to play at Mc Donald's play area, have a Mc chicken burger and a Happy Meal for a free toy inside.

Birthday is special day  that comes every year whether we like it or not.Life begins at forty and "kalabaw lang ang tumatanda" are often associated with date of birth so some people  stopped celebrating or even stop counting at a certain age . Some people are very sensitive when asked about their age .There are also the emotional  ones thinking that they'll soon belong to a  "Senior Citizen" club and will soon be forgotten.

Birthdays are celebrated differently according to tradition ,culture and religion. Most birthdays are celebrated with a party , a cake decorated with a greeting and the person's age and candles to blow.For kids, a birthday  is not complete without the presents from the guests and relatives.Birthday wishes are great way to make the special day memorable for grown ups whether cards, email ,on facebook or personal greeting. 2nd Birthday

Today, June 28 is my youngest son's 2nd birthday.He woke up probably wondering why momma and big brother was greeting and singing happy birthday to him  and daddy too was  on the phone doing the same thing.He may not realize that this is a very special day for him but the smile on his face is enough to know that he likes the attention that everybody was giving him.

Happy Birthday to me

I turned a year older this month. How time flies, seven more birthdays and I will turn 50 years old.

I got a bouquet of flowers, a lollipop and a Nemo stuffed toy from my hubby.My son made me a personalized birthday card and I think I lost it,hope not. Then we had a wonderful lunch at Chilis.

I never had a happy birthday experienced in my life before until I met my husband .Even when I turned 18 years old ,the only thing I did to at least celebrate my adulthood was to treat myself alone at Mc Donald ,Glorietta then a gallon do Magnolia ice cream bought by my father when I got home. My mother did not even bother to cook at east 1 kilo of pancit (noodles). I always think that she is so unfair to me for ignoring some of the important occasions of my life like graduation days and birthdays. I still remember when I graduated from elementary. I was with her three friends and on high school graduation, my sister accompanied me to school and left before the graduation was over .I went home alone while the other graduates were happy with their family.
Those were the days. And I am  so grateful to God for having a loving husband and children who gives color to my then lonely life.
