An Arab- American was crowned Miss USA 2010 on May 16.Miss Michigan ,Rima Fakih, 24 years old Lebanese Muslim descent, beat 50 other contestants.She is the first Arab-American to win the title and the first Michigan to become Miss USA
Fakih resides in Dearborn, Michigan, which is home to a large Arab-American community. She told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Christian and Muslim faiths.Her family moved to USA when she was a baby.She was raised in New York city where she attended a catholic school .They moved to Michigan in 2003
