First Day of School

Finally,it rained! We had a nice weather this morning with some scattered rain shower in other areas. The temperature goes down from 87 degree yesterday to 74 degree today.Mornings and evenings are much cooler.Hopefully it stays cool for the rest of the week.

Yesterday, was my son’s first day in school .  He woke  up early in the morning and  was so excited to put on his new  clothes and shoes to  get  ready for school. I  prepared all his  stuff the night before making  sure he got  everything he needed inside his back pack. And yeah ,it was raining a little bit outside .J looked out and shouted "mommy it’s raining”. Rain is always a pleasant sight for him. Like any other kids , he always wanted to play in the rain if only momma just let him.
My house is 10 miles away from the school  so  we left 20 minutes  before  8 am, just the right time to be there on time. The school starts at 8 am and ends at 3:30 pm . I decided to take and pick him up  to school for a while until he finally gets used to school before I let him take the school bus with his big brother.I was wondering  what it’s gonna be without J around the house for a long time every week days. My husband  told me , now  that J is in school  I have all the time to do my quilt .Yes ,I am into quilting. I think it’s  fun to make my own quilt blanket for the first time. Just hoping to finish it up before the end of the school year.

Anyway ,we reached the school on time , As we both enter the classroom,I  see J’s eyes brightens up at the sight of the children and toys around the classroom .I’m pretty sure he’ll going to enjoy his first day  and  not gonna miss me for the rest of the day.

As usual mommy’s so excited to take pictures of J .

"mommy it's raining!"

he was so excited that he  hardly even said good bye to me inside the classroom

As I expected, he had a great day in school  and was looking forward for the next day.

Little J is Going to School

On May, I applied my son to a pre school for this school year. I filled up some paper works and submit the necessary documents for approval .After a month , I received a mail from school   informing that  J  is on a waiting list . Their priority are the low income family. So to make the story short ,my son did not make it to school. Yesterday, I got a phone call from the school .They have a slot for J and was asked if  I am still  interested to enroll him. I was hesitant to say yes because he is doing good in home school aside from the fact that I am gonna miss him  for whole the day  if he go to school. On the second thought I want him how to learn to socialize with other kids so I decided to give it a try and enrolled him today .He was so excited to go to school and ride the school bus with his kuya.

Enrollment and orientation was done after 2 hours . Everything is free, books ,school supplies ,food, tooth brush ,school bus .All he needs to bring is a back pack to put his blanket, extra clothes, wipes and other stuff. Free education in USA ,what else can I ask for?

Next stop is shopping for a back pack , comfortable shoes ,underwear and clothes.

Tomorrow is gonna be a different day for my J. , no momma only teachers and classmate .Hope  he won’t cry in school and look for me. Good luck on his first day .

Miss Universe 2011 is Angola but Shamcey Shines !!!

4TH RUNNER UP- China
3RD RUNNER UP- Philippines
2ND RUNNER UP- Brazil
1ST RUNNER UP-Ukraine
MISS UNIVERSE 2011- ANGOLA

Miss Universe  2011 Pageant held at  Sao Paolo, Brazil was crowned to MissLeila Lopes, the first  Miss Universe winner from Angola. Miss Philippines , Shamcey Supsup was the  3rd Runner  up  but for the millions of Filipinos she is the winner and deserves the crown  . If we  based it on the Question and Answer ,she nailed it ,not a bad answer at all aside from the fact that she was   the only one who did not use an interpreter .She answered in a second without thinking unlike the others who had made the interpreters obviously as an excuse to get to the right words to say .

Last night as I was watching the Q & A portion .I told to my son .she’ll not gonna make it as Miss Universe ,3rd place probably  .But as I was keep on thinking about the event . I believe that she should have got  the Miss Universe title instead of those cheaters who used the interpreters  to win. The pageant has been here for 60 years , obviously these contestants  who was chosen to represent their country were educated  enough and well trained  not to know  and understand the  English language. They might not be not as good as the others but they sure can answer the Q & A without the others  help.

I was one of  those who got disappointed but  at least happy that Philippines made it to the top 5.
Shamcey's message to those who got disappointed with the results:
"You don't get everything in life. You must always trust what God has for us. We should just accept everything with a grateful heart. Third place is not that bad."
FROM GMA NEWS!!!!

‎"I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point." -....Oprah Winfrey via NBC News
