My Interest in Espionage

Posted by Rashid

Okay, as a child living in the 21st century, I am exposed to various external stimuli, various forms of entertainment, but the subject that interests me the most is espionage, a.k.a. Spies. From "Spy Kids" to Black Widow, everything about it interests me.

As a small child, I took various classes, from swimming lessons to karate. Contrast to what my mother has said, I was never a "spoiled brat", I just recall my mother promising to buy me everything I wanted if I went with her to Qatar. Being able to recognize a good deal even at a young age, I couldn't pass up that deal. Not my fault I was a victim of false advertising. Anyway, back on track, espionage. Spies have to have various skills, resourcefulness, among other things. When I was little, I had a friend who wanted to be an assasin (let's hope he's over that). Assasins are sort of like specialist spies trained to kill discreetly. Of course, in today's mainstream society, no death happens in "discreet".

Spies have to be well-educated, resourceful and experts in hand-to-hand combat (just in case such an occation arises). I have a conspiracy that spies STILL exist, just in secret, just as they should. I'm not the usual kind of blogger, who just copy+paste stuff to their articles, but I want you all to know more about espionage so here's a link:

  4. It's a well written piece. I guess with all those shows with covert missions and heartbeat-stopping suspense, people want to live like spies or at least have a vision of living as one.

  9. If you're interested in espionage, you can always apply as a mystery shopper. ;) They spy on restaurants and stores. They report to the company based on their observations. They should never get caught spying!

It's like espionage in real life, without the risk of getting shot!

  11. I like the same type of movies too. 007, The A-Team (tv series back then), McGyver and the like are some of them that tune into back in the days. And yes, it is great to know that you can also apply espionage in the domain of blogging.

I love ninja or spy movies! Especially if the main cast is a woman like Tomb Raider, Aeonflux. I don't know if Tomb Raider is a ninja or spy movie. But I feel it is. :D

I'm also interested on espionage! And like most people (who commented above), I like spy films too! My favorites are My Girlfriend is an Agent (Korean) and yeah, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

But espionage just goes second on my list because I love mystery and all that detective ala Sherlock Holmes stuff. In the irony, I'm also interested on heists movies. :-)
