My bunso(baby) got his first blister from the  heat. Summer just started here in Qatar, it is not that  hot yet but you will not wish to go out and walk outside during the day. Wait till next month and it will be hotter and more humid.

Last Friday, I went to the church with my two son. The church's Tagalog service was from 10 am to 12 noon. I parked the car outside the church under the sun and headed inside.

After the service, I put the baby in his car seat  and turn on the engine as fast as I can because the car is so hot  and I need to cool it down or else my children will be perspiring.

When we get home, I put him straight in his bed to take a nap. He woke  up after 2 hours and played. The eldest saw the blister and showed it to me.

baby feels the irritating  pain  so he did not stop crushing and pinching it.

 ouch, the skin broke!

I  swabbed the area with iodine and covered with band aid but it did not last long for 5 minutes .

so I decided to just leave it open and let it heal naturally.

  second day

3rd day

It  broke  my heart that  he did not sleep well on Friday night because of the pain. If mommy could only take away the blister to spare  him from all the pain.

A blister is a small pocket of fluid within the upper layers of the skin, typically caused by forceful rubbing, burning, freezing, chemical exposure or infection. Most blisters are filled with a clear fluid called serum or plasma. However, blisters can be filled with blood (known as blood blisters) or with pus (if they become infected).

To relieve you from blister pain, drain the fluid by trying to keep the skin intact. Here's how you do it:

1. Wash the area with soap and water. Make sure to clean your hands too.
2. Swab it with iodine.
3. Wipe the clean and sharp needle with  rubbing alcohol.
4. Puncture the blister several times near the edge and let the fliud drain. Keep the skin intact.
5. Apply antibiotic ointment.
6. Cover with band aid or gauze pad.
7. Change the dressing daily and put more ointment.

  1. That must be painful. I can understand your feeling of wanting to take away the pain from your bunso. I feel the same if one of my kids is hurt. Thanks for the info..It's getting hot here too,

  2. Awww... wawa naman... my daughter's suffering with tick bites on the other hand. Pag talaga summer dito sa Qatar, uber init. Nakakinis. Kawawa ang mga bata.
