Philippines 112th Independence Day

The Filipinos  celebrates its 112th Independence day not only in the Philippines but all over the world.This years theme is "Tagumpay ng Bayan".Celebrations includes flag-raising ceremonies, parade, performance and fireworks display at Luneta Park.

Filpino's in Qatar celebrates the Independence day yesterday ,June 11,2010 with a whole day activity held at Sheraton Hotel.Philippines Independence Organizing Committees(PINOC) and Philippine Embassy,Doha headed by  Ambassador Relacion organized the  whole day activities at the Sheraton Hotel. The celebration started at 6:30 am till 11 pm.Schedule was as follows: 

6:30 AM Philippine Flag Raising Ceremony @ Philippine Embassy Doha followed by Almusal ng Bayan                             

8:00  am- motorccle parade 

      8:45 am- festival parade

     9:30 am-opening program and Official Cutting of Ribbon

Entrance Ticket QR 10.00 (Whole Day Pass up to 10 PM)

     10 am to12 noon -Children’s On the Spot Painting Contest,Photography Contest

     ,Giant Chess Board Show and Dart Contest

10 am to5 pm- Medical-Dental Mission of IBiQ + Blood Donation Drive,Hair Cut for a Cause,

Jungle Zone Children’s Show & “Laro ng Lahi” by SRB

10 am to 10 pm - Pinoy Bands “Diwa ng Kalayaan” (16 Groups playing continuously Original Pilipino

Music Songs every 30 minutes)., Trade Fair and PINOY Food Exhibitions,Proud Pinoy Exhibitions,Arts,Culture, Painting and DPSC Photography  Exhibits ,“Mga Kama-o ng Malayang Pilipino” a QR 5.00 Fund Raising Drive

2 pm to10 pm-Motorcycle & Car Show by UPMMG

6 pm to 7 pm-Closing Ceremony & Independence Day Countdown, Re-enactment of the Declaration of Philippine Independence by phase,

6 pm to 11 pn Independence Gala Ball  and dinner  for a cause at Al Majlis Auditorium  Dinner Ticket QR 250.00,Filipino Community Reception for the Seven Asean Countries, “GAYAK” (A Glimpse of Philippine Costumes by Edwin Ocampo),Banyuhay Cultural Show ,Gala Dinner and Ball (Opening Dance: A showcase of the Creations of Three Designers)

                   

Free bus service  was also available for everybody.
